Main Street, Warkworth
The Main Street of Warkworth is lined with amazing shops, galleries and cafés.
Horse drawn sleighs, log sawing competitions and pancake breakfasts are just a few of the events that draw thousands to Sandy Flat Sugar Bush the second full weekend of March. In the village, craft and antique shows and street events provide a festive air.
Mill Creek Conservation Area
Warkworth is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty. This small conservation area is located at the corner of Mill Street (County Road 29) and Old Hastings Road.
Millennium Lilac Trail
A pleasant walk along a bubbling brook, through a series of community gardens and lilac beds.
Park at the south end of Main Street and leave your cares behind.
A thirty day celebration of the lilac showcasing many rare lilac varieties. Opening festivities take place during the last weekend of May and are packed with events and activities for the entire family.
The Donnybrook started in 1958 and has developed into the most anticipated social event of the year. The annual auction is Northumberland County’s largest Reduce, Recycle and Reuse event and is held on the third Saturday of June at the Percy Arena and Community Centre.
Whether your passion is hiking, gardening, art, shopping, music, theatre or simply enjoying fresh, country air, Warkworth holds a treasure trove of discoveries for you. The Millennium Trail meanders beside a gurgling brook; several studios showcase local and regional art and sculpture; specialty shops delight you with unique accessories for your home and garden; our historic town hall newly named the Warkworth Town Hall Centre for the Arts regularly hosts professional actors and musicians.
Cosseted by seven picturesque hills, Warkworth is both a farming community and a centre for the arts. Stay overnight in either a B & B in the village or out in the country. Hearty fare is available in our local restaurants and lighter repasts are offered in a stylish coffee house.
What makes Warkworth unique? Relaxing and safe, it is that unique blend of a friendly country village and uptown style. Warkworth welcomes you.
