Membership in the Warkworth Business Association
The Warkworth Business Association (WBA) is an unregistered not-for-profit volunteer organization whose activities necessitate a membership fee to manage certain ongoing expenses such as the community webpage at www.warkworth.ca, and the further development and execution of the goals of the organization.
As well as local business development, this includes the fundraising projects beneficial to the community, such as Warkworth’s past revitalization plan. As the town improves and develops, so does the environment for both residents and businesses.
Membership in the WBA is open to businesses or residents located in Warkworth/Percy Ward. Businesses outside but close to this area may submit an application for consideration by the WBA.
NOTE:
The main objective of WBA Memberships is to engage legitimate businesses that operate in cooperation to support the community of Warkworth. The businesses must be in Warkworth, such as stores, restaurants or offices, or the individual permanent resident must operate their business from their Warkworth property. Exceptions are made for organizations that are of benefit to the community, as well as special events, various social services, etc. and are at the discretion of the Board.
For Membership the WBA only recognizes individual real estate agents who either:
Live in Warkworth and are under contract with real estate brokerage office(s) in Warkworth, or
Live in Warkworth and have a proven history of sales in Trent Hills demonstrating value of service to the community (New agents living in Warkworth will be allowed a grace period of 1 year’s membership to demonstrate a history of sales in Trent Hills.), or
Live in a neighbouring community to Warkworth where there is currently no active Business Association, BIA or similar organization for them to join.
If situations change and an existing member real estate agent fails to meet the above criteria, WBA membership will not be renewed.
Permitted communications via the WBA Community Email and the Warkworth Facebook Group are limited to Business announcements/ events as well as Open house/Listings for properties in Trent Hills – Warkworth, Campbellford and Hastings.
